The Perioperative Surgical Home (PSH) is a perioperative model that achieves a better value for patients through care coordination led by anesthesiologists.
Our clinical anesthesiology services are the heart of the department. We provide general, neuraxial, and regional anesthetics in addition to monitored anesthesia care for multiple sites on the main UC Irvine Medical Campus.
Our talented faculty are leaders within this demanding subspecialty. The UC Irvine Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) tripartite mission is to heal our patients, teach our residents and students, and to discover new technologies.
Our Chronic Pain Service provides evaluation and treatment for a wide variety of painful conditions for patients.
The Acute Pain Service team provides a 24-hour in house coverage for patients with acute postoperative and post-traumatic pain.
Each anesthesia subspecialty corresponds to a surgical subspecialty. The subspecialty model allows anesthesiologists to gain expertise in a group of cases by increasing knowledge, communication and patient safety.
Our goal is to improve the quality and safety of patient care within the department. The Quality Assurance's role is to provide documented systems, provider trained processes and practices that minimize risk exposure, internal audit system, and more.
