UC Irvine Anesthsiology Interest Group

AIG Medical Student Group

The UC Irvine Anesthesiology Interest Group was established to introduce interested medical students to the exciting, burgeoning field of anesthesiology. With the boom in medical advancements in the modern age, anesthesiology is at the forefront taking advantage of the latest medical technologies to better patient care preoperatively, intraoperatively, and postoperatively.

The Anesthesiology Interest Group holds a general intro meeting along with a Real Deal Talk in the beginning of the year, coordinates student involvement in the annual American Society of Anesthesiologists Meeting, conducts question and answer sessions with senior medical students and resident/faculty regarding residency applications, and puts on workshops such as airway management and vascular access. The Anesthesiology Interest Group can also help members with applications, and connect them with faculty for shadowing and research opportunities.

We sincerely look forward to having you in our group and welcome all those who are interested in the field.
